Time for fun this summer!
Every year, Community Coming Together (CCT) compiles a list of free or low-cost activities that are available around Medicine Hat. We feel having a one-stop location to compile information about events, activities and opportunities for fun this summer would be a helpful resource for anyone wondering what exactly is open and running during the summer months.
We are doing our best to provide the most accurate information as we receive it, so please be patient as we continue to update this site. |
How to navigate this website
We have compiled information on different activities & events that are being offered in and around Medicine Hat. To make it a bit easier (hopefully!) to find information that is most applicable to you and/or your family, we have created pages for All Ages Activities, For Families with Young Children, For Families with Teens/Tweens, and if you want some fun day trips, we have included information on things to do that require A Little Bit of a Drive out of town. Most entries also have links to click for more information on the activity and/or the organization involved. Please check them out!
CCT also has many fun & exciting events that we are hosting this summer. Check out our events calendar here. |
Feel free to tag us!
We definitely encourage everyone to disconnect from their devices this summer. But for those brief moments when you are online, we would also love for you to share your photos & comments with us so we can hear how YOU are having fun this summer! Or tag us if you have photos you've taken at any of our events.
Why is it important for children to connect with their community?

But there are actually many reasons why connecting with community activities builds more resilient children. The Search Institute has identified 40 supports and strengths that young people need to do their best in life. Many of them are rooted in the community such as:

Community Coming Together is part of the provincial Mental Health Capacity Building Initiative, that works to promote positive mental health in children, youth, families and individuals in the community who interact with children and youth. The funding for this program comes from AHS Provincial Addiction and Mental Health. We have been in operation since 2007 and we provide prevention and promotion services to all nine of the schools in the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education. You can find out more about CCT here.
